The cover of Madness’ 1980 EP had the band pointing a gun at a dog (Bassett hound as I recall) with the legend: Buy this album or the dog gets it. I predict SP will write to them to complain about this obscene behaviour.

Conor Roberts, Labour’s Rodney candidate and former NZUSA President, used a flyer which said “Vote for Conor or the Kitten gets it” in his campaign to become AUSA President, featuring a picture of a gun pointed at a Kitten which was comically posed with its hands up.

It is not just National supporters with that kind of humour.

i’m thinking of the original Ali G – he was interviewing these hard-core vegetarians, and it started with ‘would you eat a big mac’, and so on (mcnuggets etc), and then he gobsmacked them with ‘what if I said if you don’t eat this chicken, then I’ll kill another chicken’. Priceless indeed!

Yeah I do try and talk it up a fair bit…
