Why can’t you just do as your good buddy Appleboy implores you?? What I’m trying to do is make the ignorant little twit aware of the left’s history of stifling free speech so that he might think twice in future before he advocates shutting people he doesn’t like out of the debate.

I’m reminding him of the murdering anti-freedom of expression dictators he is traditionally aligned with, and how, unless he wants to constantly remind other readers of this history, he should strive not to emulate those tyrants.

Of course, if he was taught history at school, he’d already know that. If he was taught something other than socialism, he’d also know what he sounds like to people who have wider political views and greater experience of life than himself.

You cannot tell difference between social democracy and totalitarianism, because from the remote perspective of your own self-imposed intellectual gulag… they look like the same thing.

BTW. As I may have mentioned to you some years ago, I’m likely one of the few New Zealanders to have actually stood on that desolate “Highway of Bones”, running north from Kolyma. I went there as a personal pilgrimage in 2001.

I’ll tell you why. You wish to control the debate. Like so many leftists, it irks you uncontrollably that some people express ideas outside of the socialist space time continuum. You want to send those who do express those ideas to the Siberian gulags. Like Joe Stalin. Or maybe you would like to take them out behind the rice paddies and suffocate them with a plastic bag over their head. In the way that Pol Pot’s acolytes dealt with dissenters. Or maybe you’d just like, in the age old fashion of totalitarians everywhere, to put them up against the wall like Fidel and Che did. Or put them thru a chipper like your buddy Saddam did. Or maybe just gas them in masse like your good old mate Adolf did. Just look back into the history of totalitarianism. There’s so many methods you can choose from.
